Less than a 10 minute walk away, it offers a quiet atmosphere with trees and benches, perfect for reading or relaxing. Square Alex-Biscarre, located in Paris’s 9th arrondissement, is a peaceful public garden created in 1964 on the former grounds of the Hôtel Dosne-Thiers. It is named after Alex Biscarre, a former Paris city councilor.
Covering 1,180 m², the square features a central lawn surrounded by a variety of trees (including purple beech, Austrian pines, maples, and magnolias). It also includes a children’s play area, a covered shelter, public restrooms, and water fountains.
10 bis avenue Trudaine, 75009 Paris
Located at 10 bis, Avenue Trudaine, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, the Square d’Anvers – Jean-Claude Carrière is set on part of the former Montmartre slaughterhouses. It was laid out in 1877 based on plans by architect Jean-Camille Formigé, under the direction of engineer Alphand.
The square features a bandstand, which comes to life during the warmer months, and offers a remarkable view of the Sacré-Cœur, one of its main attractions.
Over the years, the square has undergone several transformations: statues (of Diderot and Sedaine) and a column were removed during the construction of an underground parking lot. It was later redesigned in 1981, including the installation of a new bandstand.
Since December 2021, it officially bears the name Square d’Anvers – Jean-Claude Carrière, in honor of the French writer Jean-Claude Carrière.
The square is easily accessible from Hôtel Théorème by bus (line 40) from Le Peletier station or (line 85) from Provence – Faubourg Montmartre.

Passage Verdeau was opened in 1847 and serves as the natural continuation of Passage Jouffroy.
Less known to the general public, it offers a quiet and intimate atmosphere, ideal for visitors in search of authenticity. Its bright architecture, featuring a high glass roof and elegant columns, creates a refined and peaceful setting.

10-12 boulevard Montmartre, 75009 Paris
Located just a few minutes from Hôtel Théorème, Passage Jouffroy is one of the most iconic covered passages in Paris. Inaugurated in 1846, it stands out as the first Parisian passage built entirely of metal and glass, with a marble floor.
A direct extension of the Passage des Panoramas, it connects Boulevard Montmartre to Passage Verdeau. Known for its elegant and bright architecture, it houses the famous Musée Grévin, along with a wide range of specialty shops: antique bookstores, cane sellers, vintage toy shops, and traditional Parisian cafés.

Hôtel Drouot, located in the 9th arrondissement of Paris just a 3-minute walk from Hôtel Théorème, is one of the world’s most prestigious auction houses. Bringing together around sixty auction firms, it hosts over 500,000 items up for bidding each year across its 16 rooms. The current building, a contemporary structure inspired by Haussmannian architecture, was inaugurated in 1980 and is notable for the sculptural fountain on its façade. It is conveniently served by the Richelieu–Drouot and Le Peletier metro stations.
